Communitrees is a challenge to the people of Huron County to do one simple thing: create art with a tree and that is exactly what the Brussels Horticultural Society did!
Along with others throughout Huron County, the Brussels Horticultural Society has stepped up to the challenge and created a very unique display in downtown Brussels at the parkette beside the gazebo.
"The people of Brussels continue to amaze me with their enthusiasm, spirit and creativity. I am quite proud to say I am part of this community," says Huron East Economic Development Officer Jan Hawley.
Come visit our historic downtown and see this beautiful communitree, appropriately named...."Gardeners know the best dirt!" After viewing and enjoying the Communitrees on Culture Days weekend you can go online to the Communitrees Official Website and vote. "Brussels gardners know the best dirt" is Tree 1. Check Yes, this is my favourite tree if you think this is number one!
Details on the voting:
Will start on Saturday, September 29, 2012 and close one week later on Saturday, October 6th. Winners of the online viewer’s choice contest will be announced on this website on October 10th.
Winners in each category will receive a special prize commemorating their award-winning tree.
Works will be on display throughout Huron County during Culture Days September 29-30, 2012. Full details of this event can be found at www.communitrees.ca
