The Boys are back in Town!
Tournament organizers are pleased to announce the fourth Canadian Tour Seaforth Country Classic will take place August 15-21st at the Seaforth Golf Club. The international field of over 140 professional golfers will be playing for a purse of $100,000.00 during the four day competition.
“In addition to seeing some great golf in a beautiful setting, this event is a great marketing and promotional opportunity for businesses in Southwestern Ontario. What a great event to bring your employees, clients, and friends to see ‘Tomorrow’s Golf Champions Today’, said Tournament Director Carolanne Doig. In the past three years PGA tour players such as Graham DeLaet and Will Strickler have participated at the Seaforth Country Classic as well as recent Champion’s Tour winner, Rod Spittal.
Tickets will go on sale May 1st and will be $20.00 tax included for week long admittance and a chance to win two tickets to the 2012 Masters.
Maureen Agar, Tournament Chair is happy to state, “The official tournament charity is the Gateway Rural Health Research Institute, which studies rural health issues in Huron, Perth, Bruce, and Grey Counties. Over $50,000 has been raised for medical charities to date through this event and this year any organization selling tickets for the event will receive a donation for their fundraising efforts.”
A new event for 2011 is a nine hole Junior Pro Am in which junior golfers will play and have dinner with a pro. The popular Ladies Only Pro Am , Championship Pro Am, and Wee Break Junior Golf Demo will all return. In continuing with tradition and to add local excitement the Seaforth Golf Club’s Men’s Champion, Frank Verberne, will be teeing up with the pros.
“We are excited to be hosting the tournament again as momentum seems to be building every year. We will be asking for support from community businesses small and large to help enhance this already popular sporting event,” said Agar and Doig.
